The Patrick Muthuri Family Foundation provides education, health and
welfare support for the orphaned children within their community.

Patrick Muthuri Foundation – Kenya is a registered charity chaired by Hon. Patrick Muthuri M.C.A. organised in conjunction with Kijijone Methodist Church, Meru County, Kenya.

Friends of Patrick Muthuri Foundation is a registered charity organised in conjunction with Lammack Methodist Church in Blackburn established to raise funds in support of the Patrick Muthuri Foundation.

The prime purpose of Friends of Patrick Muthuri Foundation is to provide Primary School education and free Sanitary Care products for the orphaned and disadvantaged children of Meru County. Our funds are raised via ‘Friends’ who make a monthly contribution by bank Standing Order and one-off Donations.

Every £1 donated to Friends of Patrick Muthuri Foundation goes to help the children. No administrative costs are deducted. To donate please visit this page.

Monies raised are used for  getting the orphaned disadvantaged children of Kijijone and Meru into Primary School at the age of 7 until the age of 14 when they sit the Kenyan Certificate Primary Education Whilst Primary School is free to attend, parent(s), have to pay for a school uniform, shoes, food, sanitary products, schoolbooks, pencils etc. and most importantly their meals.

Adoptive parent(s) are often ageing grandparent(s), or next of kin relatives living in extreme poverty. Orphaned/Disadvantaged children are the poorest of the poor and without the financial support of the Patrick Muthuri Foundation they would have no schooling. No future.

The ‘Girls Always in School’ project provides free sanitary products to young girls attending Primary School at the age of puberty. Availability of sanitary pads to the poorest of children within the community is an ongoing social problem and health risk. Girls would often not attend school for a week each month. The scheme has helped to take away some of the stigma attached to menstruation, improving the girl’s health welfare, confidence, and reducing their vulnerability. Also, of equal importance their school attendance and results have improved.
